CHILDREN'S WORSHIP & SUNDAY SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Children of all ages are welcomed in the worship and vitality of United Church of the Valley.  Children attend the first part of the worship service with their parents, and are dismissed after a special Children's Conversation to attend Sunday School classes with our caring volunteer teachers and their teen assistants.

Special Family Worship Services are planned several times during the year, during which families worship together for the entire service.  These services are planned with the younger members in mind, and frequently involve their participation.

Our Children’s Education program offers Sunday School each Sunday for children from pre-school through Middle School.

United Church of the Valley values the youth of the church and our community.  The youth are involved in all aspects of church.  They are welcome in all education classes and fellowship activities.  Youth focus on outreach, service, spiritual growth, fellowship and fun!

Youth Groups have a variety of activities during the summer, but meet regularly during the school year as listed below.

Middle & High School Youth Group, Sundays  5:00 - 7:00 pm
Middle School and High School youth meet together each week during the school year, focusing on a variety of topics.   We start by sharing a meal together, then a time of devotions.  Then, at 6 pm through team building games, discussion, fellowship and fun this group journeys together through the exciting, challenging adventures of teenaged life. Special monthly events are scheduled during the summer.

CIA: Christians In Action
The youth of United Church of the Valley join together to actively work for justice in our community and in our world.   Throughout the year we join together outside of regular youth group hours to provide community service, outreach, and assistance to people in our church, wider community, and world.  We are always seeking new ways act compassionately for justice.

Stone Ministry
Many of the youth in the church participate in an essential aspect of the Sunday worship service.  They provide the Power-Point presentations used to lead the service each Sunday morning.  If you would like to share your talents in this way, contact Larry Elwood.

ADULT EDUCATION & STUDY GROUPS

The Tuesday Morning Bible Study Group meets every Tuesday at 9:30 AM.
Usually this Bible Study Group studies the Bible.  This class follows the lectionary looking for insight into the Scriptures.  Informed by academia, Christian tradition, and life-experience, participants examine the scripture to find deeper meaning in our lives and in our relationships with others. But they have also been known to read books related to theology and discuss them during these sessions.  The format is inclusive; you don't have to be a Biblical scholar to participate.  In fact this group has way more fun in their learning than is probably normal.  Each class lasts 1 hr and 15 minutes.  Newcomers are encouraged to come and try it out.  The class meets at The Community House. The Saturday Book Discussion Group meets on (usually) the third Saturday of each month from 9:30 AM to 11 AM.  This is a group of persons who are striving to understand world and social issues by reading current books on topics selected by the group.  Each month the book group picks a different book to read and then joins together to share thoughts, criticisms, and insight into the books read.

Discussions are held at The Community House (24973 Washington Avenue, Historic Downtown Murrieta - across from the post office).  Contact the church office for more information.  Come and participate in the lively and informative discussions!
