OUR VISION

The dreams of the original founding members of UCV were for a community of faith where God’s people would embrace all persons with love and dignity, learning to celebrate diversity as God’s very image.  Since then, United Church of the Valley continues to be a leading voice in progressive Christianity, a witness to God’s inclusive love, a refuge for many beaten down by religion, and a place where matters of justice and peace are taken seriously.

OUR STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

We believe that we are called to continue the work of Jesus in this world through teaching and preaching the love of God, seeking ways to love and understand all people and establishing the ways of peace, hope, healing and justice.   Our faith is progressive in accomplishing these tasks in cooperation with any and all who seek the same goals for this world.

OUR STATEMENT OF AFFIRMATION

We, the congregation of United Church of the Valley, Murrieta, declare ourselves to be Open and Affirming.

As such, we strive to be a congregation that welcomes all persons, regardless of age; mental and physical health and ability; racial, ethnic, and cultural identity or background; economic, educational, and social status; sexual orientation, gender identity and its expression; marital status and family structure; or faith background.

We welcome all to share in the life, leadership, ministry, fellowship, worship, sacraments, stewardship, responsibilities, blessings and joys of our congregation’s life in Christ.

(Adopted by unanimous vote of the membership
at the May 24, 2009 Special Congregational Meeting)

United Church of ChristOur church was established in 1993 as a new church start of the UNITED CHURCH of Christ, establishing a presence in the Inland Valley area for Murrieta, Temecula, Lake Elsinore, and other communities of southern Riverside and northern San Diego counties.

Disciples of ChristIn 2002,we became a dual-denomination church, joining with The Christian Church, Disciples of Christ(Click on highlighted names or logos to learn more about our denominations.)

Supporting our mission statement that "our faith is progressive in accomplishing these tasks in cooperation with any and all who seek the same goals for this world," we are an affiliated church with The Center for Progressive Christianity.

United Church of the Valley is a covenanted partner church with Habitat for Humanity - Inland Valley. As such, we lovingly invest toward helping others through prayer, financial support and promoting labor to build homes for those in need.

United Church of the Valley is a founding member of the Murrieta-Temecula Interfaith Council.

A program of the National Council of Churches, USA, FaithfulAmerica.org is made up of persons who  believe that one’s faith - however broadly or uniquely expressed - has a word to say about our nation’s government and its priorities.  Together we are a progressive, inclusive, and responsive interfaith electronic advocacy community dedicated to providing a powerful collective voice to help advance the cause of compassion and justice in public policy.
